Soil Conservation Society of India is devoted to the cause of development and conservation of the soil, water and associated resources of plants and animals since inception. It is an association of scientists and professionals where membership is open to anyone who pledges to work for the wise use of the precious and limited soil resource.

 
 

Soil Conservation Society of India was born out of the National Symposium on Soil Conservation held at Hazaribagh, Bihar (now Jharkhand) in December, 1951 and later on registered under Item No. 14, 1952-53 at Patna, Bihar under the Societies Registraction Act, 1860.
